I'm playing at a comedy club in Manhattan next Friday.

To be honest, I'm REALLY nervous. If anyone's gonna be around here, in NYC... please come check it out.

Why use a "different name"? I never got that. I used to be a DJ on a tiny little piece of shit college radio station. A bunch of the DJs would adopt these "hip" "air names". They asked me when I started what MY air name was gonna be. I'm like, "Steve Schley, of course!" I figure, just in case I ever get famous, my "listeners" [read: parents] can say, "HEY! That's that dude I used to listen to on the radio!!" Or even if I don't get "famous" but I do SOMETHING else in the public eye, people would be able to make a connection. I just don't want to leave a trail of pseudonyms all over the place. "Well, his AIR name was 'Psycho Steevo', his PEN name was 'Stevie Smarty-Pants', his STAGE name was 'Steven E.D.', his WEB name was '3v3+Z'..." Okay, I'm a fucking hypocrite! But THERE'S my real name! I think I've posted it once before, but here it is again. Great, now when I run for president someone will search through here and say I did "nigger" jokes!

My actual last name is swiss, and hard to pronounce (more less, spell). I adopted a different name for use on air. As for why I'm using a different name for this show -- I'm working on stuff, I haven't been on a stage in months, I'm doing it to test out jokes and not be remembered as "that guy who told horrible jokes".

Radio and comedy are my two seperate things. In fact, I was known back in high school as "Tom Radio"... so I have no worries that anyone will notice me... nor less do I care (except to show-off to those that thought I wouldn't amount to anything. Don't think I didn't send them my press kit).
