Hi all, I looked around for a new members thread and didn't find one, so if this is the wrong place for it I am very very very sorry...but not all that sorry:)
Not much to say about my sad and lonesome self except that I'm sad and lonesome. I am also a big fan of MST3k and I like the Monty Python movies (sorry don't know much in the way of the show, but a little, just don't hold it against me) and most of the boards you guys have here show me you're not part of the horrible comedy on TV fanbase today.
Ok that's all.
Hello!
Welcome to our little community, don't mind if people start questioning your sexuality or insulting you for what they perceive as bad taste in comedy, it's all part of the ride.
By the way, I do reserve the right to take back this welcome if you turn out to be an undesirable asshole.
Good luck.

I'm a big, big fan of MST3K, although I prefer Joel over Mike.
And I love Monty Python, too.
Also, Michael Palin's hot.

Cool but I like the Mike a bit more....I hope this doesn't make me an undesireable asshole yet, as Pali is cautious of. I won't get offended though, as I only care about what I think of me, me being the best thing in my sad and lonesome life.

if you dont post a picture of what you look like we will all hate you
First, good step by saying that you don't care what people think of you, this is a positive mental approach to your life on this message board. Secondly stop saying 'sad and lonesome life', this is a board for comedy, not sadness.
And lastly, I have all of Michael Palins travel documentary's on dvd, beat that.

You're all gonna need to get in line then.
And Pali, I was using sad and lonesome for my own humor, so I don't care what you think:D

Ah, I had a badass Geography teacher in high school and we'd watch those, like, every other day. Watching those is what actually made me fall in love with him.
Do you really have them all?
Even the latest one he did, where he went from one pole to the other? (I think that was the latest).
What's your favorite MSTie movie, yousonuva?
I am quite partial to Pod People, Mitchell, I Accuse My Parents, and MASTER NINJA ONE.

Yeah, I remember that line from Real Genius. Great movie. I will surely post a pic once I get goin here, so then maybe you'll rue the day?
apotatojudge (I think I'll call you that instead of Stupid bitch Julie:D ), great eps you got. I just got I Accuse My Parents in the mail, so I'll have to see that one for the first time here. My fav is far and away Time Chasers (I'm mostly a SciFi era fan) and though it's not one of my top ten favs, you might recognize my screenname from Final Justice...you son of a....get it?
Yeah, you guys seem pretty cool, but I still don't care what you think about me....yet.

Trumpy, you can do magic things!
Pod People's great. So is Mitchell. I would agree with Julie and say Joel's better, but Mike did get a lot better the last few seasons.
And welcome, yousonuva.

You're darn right I do, from Around the World in Eighty Days to Sahara (which was the latest one). He's just finished doing one in the Himalaya's too, he's past 60 and still going strong, now that's a stud.

Sorry I hit this one late, but...
MST3K rules... so does Julie, but I don't appreciate British humor.
Geeez..when will people learn there's no such thing as 'British humour.' How would you like it if I referred to jokes about fat chicks trying to have sex with horny teenage boys as 'American humour.'
There is comedy that is funny, and there is comedy that isn't funny. There are people who enjoy comedy that isn't funny, and there are people who dislike comedy that isn't funny. Whether it comes out of the mouth of a British guy or an American guy doesn't matter, now more than ever. So lay off Jack!
God I love the internet. Sorry for being so serious then.
edit: Oooooh wait, I get it now. Disregard that entire post I made. Someone should really make a way to fix mistakes like that! (sideways Mr. Show reference)

Listen you yank... culture and society differs here from Europe. They find different things funny than we do (I'm talking about majority for those that want to nit-pick).
I'm not sure why you were taking it back... but hey... truce? Awwwwww....
I'll accept your truce, but I refuse to agree.
From now on we shall label what the majority of Americans find funny as 'American humour.' There, done. Now you like shitty comedy. You've made things for you and your people very difficult now.
Wait wait, shit, we have to stay on topic. We should make a thread for new people to say hello in. And somehow make it sticky.

Pali wait ignore him. You're right. I didn't believe you until you showed me those brass eye sketches. Brits do tend to have a different style of comedy than Americans, but those differences are only superficial. It really does just boil down to whether or not something makes you laugh. Funny vs. Unfunny is the correct way to evaluate something. It has zero to do with what country you're from.

Except France. :D
Have you heard nothing CptPlanet has said!?
That's what I was getting at though cpt, thanks for making it clearer. I was about to write a whole long thing about it but then I went down the pub and drank what tasted like cold piss instead.
My only real point is that you can't ascribe one style or way of approaching comedy to an entire nation of people. A paliesque example is of 'Ancient Egyptian' comedy. This consists mainly of statues and pictures of animals defecating on people or each other. I like to think that not all Ancient Egyptians had this sense of humour, but perhaps the majority thought it was funny. It's their equivalent of 'Friends' if you will.
Now that's over with let's leave this thread to die.

The fact that you like Mike more than Joel makes you A-OK in my book because I was starting to feel like the only person on Earth who wasn't part of the "earlier episodes were better because they're earlier, man, THINK ABOUT IT!" club.

I like the earlier episodes because I prefer TV's Frank and Dr. oh fuck whats his name over that woman villian.

Forrester. Dr. Forrester. Yeah Pearl was kinda lame, but the host segments were just the parsley in a three course meal of comedy. I've heard it said that Joel had a more poetic, wispy style as opposed to Mike's sharper and more brutal approach. Both were great, but I just happen to like Mike's style a little more.

wow, there is a perfect example of funny vs. unfunny.
This thread makes me think about my first ever visit to this forum...
But I don't really remember it, so that kinda sucks.
There was a big arguement going on about something, I think it was about Bill Maher.
I'm gonna have to search all my posts and find my first 10 or whatever...I'm sure I was a fucking rockstar.
