Greetings
Just a heads up that David Cross will be hosting an evening of music and stand up at the Beacon Theater in New York City on August 31st. He will be performing with Sleater Kinney, Fred Armisen, Bob Odenkirk, (possibly) Built to Spill, and MANY other guests including many Daily Show alum.
Why the Beacon Theater? Simply put, clear Channel owns most of the other large venues here in NYC and they are giving these large venues to the Republican National Convention. There aren't enough venues in New York City for rich, white, older men and their zombie-like wives to convene, so Clear Channel stepped up to the plate to remedy that. Hooray!
Tickets will be on sale at Ticketmaster.com on Friday 7/30/04 at 11:00am.
www.knittingfactory.com has more details
And good luck, to us.

Am I the only one who sees it as a little odd that they would go out of there way to not be affiliated with Clear Channel in any way, but they're still doing the tickets via TicketMaster? Yes, I know Clear Channel is evil, and I suppose you have to choose your battles. But these people all know that TicketMastrer is evil too. So what does that say about TicketMaster that they obviously couldn't even get a decent alternative to take care of their tickets? Actually, is TicketMaster actually AFFILIATED with Clear Channel in some way? I don't know. I'm asking.

Ticketmaster is the ticket broker for the Beacon Theater and this relationship has nothing to do with the Involver show. Involver has no influence as to who the Beacon Theater uses to sell their tickets. Dig it? They have no choice

Did that post make me sound like a dick? Sorry if it did! I'm not being a dick, I swear.

In other words, who has more of a monopoly, TicketMaster or Clear Channel? "They have no choice"! EXACTLY!! You see the problem?

I do feel that ticketmaster is unbelievably unfair. I bought 2 of those VIP tickets and the service charges tacked on about $25.00 extra. That's insane!

Someone in NYC, please bring us a review when it's all over!

Klaus... the pressure's on you. I can't afford to go to NYC again. I can't wait til someone shows bob and david a map of Ontario and they discover there are millions of people living up here.

next time you go you should bring a map with ontario (and pittsburgh) covered in red marker and tell him that that's where his largest fanbase is. he's a jokesmith, not a smartster, he won't know that you made that yourself. oh, and do it when he's drunk.

The best part is when they tack shit on like "convenience charges" because they're not even trying to hide the fact that they're fucking you. They're ironically throwing it in your face and laughing while they light cigars with $100 bills and snuff them out in an ashtray made from the bones of a fucking orphan.
God damn I hate those fucking cocksuckers.

Someone explain the concept of lighting cigars with hundred dollar bills to me. I mean, I know it's supposed to be like rich people laughing at poor people and it's usually not meant literally. But can someone explain the Rube Goldberg logic of lighting a match or a lighter, using THAT to light a hundred dollar bill, then using THAT to light your cigar? I don't get it.

No dickface. You slide the bill in between your asscheeks and then start bootydance to some crunkass beats and the friction between your asscheeks and the $100 bill will actually cause it to burst into flames.

Either that or you lack a forest of friction assisting sweat-matted asshair. That's what puts me a cut above the rest, no pun intended.

I remember this thread. I was trying to set it up so that someone would say "There is no pun, I don't get it." and then I would say "DURRRR you fucking bloodrag! There wasn't supposed to be. What the fuck do you think 'No pun intended' means?"
