I watched John McEnroe's new show, aptly titled 'McEnroe', at 1:00am this morning and, lo and behold, David Cross was the first guest. I respect McEnroe as a tennis player as his talent and uniqueness cannot be denied. However, he struggles so badly to produce an even watchable interview. Good interviewers either memorize the questions they are going to ask or need to simply have a quick glance at the questions; McEnroe was literally reading from the card. I sort of felt bad for him because he was so amateurish. Luckily DC was pretty talkative and McEnroe didn't really need to ask too many questions. Michael McKean was also a guest. Christopher Guest was not a Guest.

I missed that cuz I don't get that channel. Luckily I got my Cross fill when Bravo re-ran the Celebrity Poker Tournament on Sunday.

Man, I can't believe you feel bad for John McEnroe. Some millionaire who got rich and famous playing tennis and now his ego is so big he think he should have a talk show? Fuck him with Jimmy Conner's dick.

Well, I see your point but he does have an edge and I think a McEnroe talk show probably looked GREAT on paper. But, indeed, you are correct. The bi-product of an over-entertained society such as ours is that if a celebrity makes millions (whether it be in sports or entertainment), he or she feels qualified to try out other entertainment ventures. We enable these asswads with insatiable appetites for entertainment. Just look at Shaq; KAZAAM?! A rap album?! Commercials!? Just fucking shoot the ball, you freak of nature!

Anyhow, I am rambling.

For those of you (like myself) who missed it the first time...they are showing it again tonight.
You are welcome.
