Has anyone seen this show on BBC America? HILARIOUS.

i fuckin hate you guests. my god, we enjoy GOOD comedy, not any comedy. thats one of those damn jackass/tom green shows. british comedy had made its name for being smarter and dryer than american comedy, but recently its not much better.

tjamick, Trailer Park Boys is a Canadian show. So unfortunately you have made yourself look quite ignorant on this one. (Unless there is a british version in which case the shoe is on the other foot)....

But I am guessing it is the same TPB that we have here in Canada. In which case, it is nothing like Tom Green or Jackass.

Infact, you could consider it more of a low budget Curb Your Enthusiasm (documentary style camera work)...

It's got some funny stuff, gets VERY old fast, but everyonce in a while they do some really good stuff.

I think you owe that guest an apology....

Or tell me to fuck off, whichever :)

the one i saw was on bbc and it was awful, so i owe no appologies, however, if the canadian one is any better, which judging by your post i doubt, i'm.. well, i'm still not sorry.

there's only one version

it's Canadian and it's on the SHOWCASE network.

fuckin' funny shit. one of my top 5 fav shows of all time (NH)

watch it from ep 1. the characters all evolve from that, as does the story

well it is nothing like JAckass or Tom Green so I don't think it is what you think that you think it is.

That can't be right.

It is on BBC America and it doesn't say "hay guys this is a CANADIAN show just so you know in case someone yells at you on the internet" so lay off tjamick.

I thought it was mildly funny. I liked the episode where the guy pulls a gun out of a drawer and goes "oh that's where that was" and then sets in on the counter where his daughter is standing.

It's pretty obvious that the dude that compared Trailer Park Boys to Jackass and Tom Green has never seen the show, which means that he's just criticizing for the sake of criticizing, which is all kinds of lame. No one is ever going to mistake TPB for Curb Your Enthusiasm or Arrested Development (two vastly superior 'verite' style shows), but the show does have its moments, and the writing is very subtle. The Canadian hick stereotypes that the show satirizes are in many ways similar to American hick stereotypes, but also sufficiently different that they probably don't connect with the majority of American viewers that aren't familiar with the culture.

All in all, though, it is a pretty mediocre show.

I can't believe I just spent this much time explaining/defending Trailer Park Boys; I feel filthy.

Listen up Jack, I don't have to do anything if I don't wanna.

Is Jack any better?

in his defense, i am kind of lame. i recently watched it, and it too was lame, so i turned it to nick-at-nite for the full house marathon and whacked off to john stamos.

I miss shows with theme songs that explain what the show is about. "Full House" comes on and that guy comes right out of the gate singing, "Whatever happened to predictability?" And then you've got Stamos in a mullet saying, "Yeah, I got yer predictability right HERE!"

I wonder how hot that neighbor chick is now.

Does it make her feel high class?

as a matter of fact, she does. she puts her bare feet up on the table and relaxes with a big glass of Dr Pepper. Or sometimes she makes the grandkids rub her feet with scented lotions.
