Children of Men (Man?) was great.

Indeed, Children of Men was incredible. I mean they fucking killed Julian Moore before she became annoying! well, not before--slightly after, but they killed her before she fucked up the movie and that's good enough for me.

1. Although set in England, the director and all his films are Mexican.
2. Children of Men was awesome.

Children of Men is the reason why I don't really watch drama. Nice cinematography, whatever, but it's just as dumb and hollow as a comedy I wouldn't watch. It doesn't say anything more than what's already there. It's boring and gay too.
I didn't think it was that bad but you guys are wrong about it.

Hot Fuzz was no Shaun of the Dead but I liked it and the last 15-20 minutes were really really fun!

05-06-2007, 08:32 PM
I never really got into the whole spiderman 'thing' but my friends said there were musical numbers in it? Is this true? How silly.

has anyone here seen hot fuzz? People say it's funny, but they are the people who aren't into comedy and are not exposed to funny things all that often. I'm scared of seeing it for the same reasons I'm scared of seeing Borat. I'm afraid it's going to be full of uncomfortable situations which seem to make other people laugh but me wince and want to change the channel.

I'm also going against popular thought and saying the TV show 'the Extras' was really uncomfortable and not funny. I don't derive amusement from seeing people in shitty situations.

CptPlanet
05-06-2007, 11:15 PM
not really "musical" numbers but evil venom suit spidey does tickle the ivory for a few seconds in a completely ridiculous scene. it shows how much more confident and aggressive the venom suit makes him.

i mean it is ridiculous. they are portraying it as comic relief but even still it's too ridiculous. there's like a good 30 minutes of that shit too. it's unbelievable.

yea there's not much good stuff out there. i was in the video shop, bypassed James Bond, was thinking of Children of Men but wanted something a little more mindless. Then i got down to Talladega Nights... stopped right there and backed up a little, don't know if i can handle anything THAT mindless. I was afraid it was going to act as kind of a comedy vaccuum, and i would become dumber having watched it. So i went mid-range and rented soppy chick flick #1965 'The Holiday'.

Shut up

DoctorDelicious

I totally agree. Even though I'm about 5 years out of high school and i didn't grow up in America i can still appreciate it. It's done really well, there's about a thousand characters but they do it so well that you don't get confused by it all. Ethan Embry is just the cutest thing ever!

But the other movie, "Wet Hot American Summer" was refreshing and funny.

Up next, "The Brothers Solomon" (http://imdb.com/title/tt0784972/) vs "The Ten" (http://imdb.com/title/tt0811106/).

I found Stardust to be a very funny and endearing movie. A good date movie. My hand thouroughly enjoyed it. Or I should say two hands. Because it takes both hands for me. Because mines an innie. And one hand has to hold the turkey baster. And the other hand has to hold my Memaw's hand, and sometimes my dignity. Anyway, go see Stardust.
