So I went to see Invite Them Up with Bobby Tisdale and Eugene Mirman last night, and had a really great time. If you're ever in NYC on a Wed. night, you should check it out.

Bobby is putting together a show, I guess for internet release, and we got to see the first 2 episodes. It's called Bob's Beautiful Bed and Breakfast, and it's about "Bob" making a B&B out of his studio apartment. Loved it!

I guess we'll have to defend our usernames by saying that we're trying to be ironic. Is irony still in these days? I know it'll never pass for New Sincerity.

"In an Internet post, Thorn (or someone impersonating him with a Young American ID, the signature Satan and a link to the show's website) describes the phenomenon this way: "What is The New Sincerity? Think of it as irony and sincerity combined like Voltron, to form a new movement of astonishing power. Or think of it as the absence of irony and sincerity, where less is (obviously) more. If those strain the brain, just think of Evel Knievel."

Satan/Thorn goes on to argue that you can't really appreciate Evel Knievel on a literal level, but neither is it appropriate to view him in a purely ironic sense. Evel, he concludes, is so "awesome" that he transcends both approaches."

i feel up your mom

i think this is new sincerity, but i dont know for sure. i mean, your mom's hot and i want to feel her up, but this isn't how i'd go about telling you if i actually meant to inform you of my past indiscretions, and "your mom" jokes are a staple of the lame amateur comic, thus making them ripe for parody
