The movie starring America's favorite (barely) underage twins took a dive at the box office (http://movies.yahoo.com/movies/feature/weekendboxofficea.html) this weekend. Check it out:
Mary-Kate and Ashley's comedy "New York Minute," a major test of the direct-to-video starlets' theatrical prowess as they near age 18, debuted in fourth place with $6.2 million - a weak showing compared to the popularity of other recent teen comedies...
About 80 percent of the tickets went to girls under the age of 11...
Think about it - 80% of the tickets went to girls under 11, the other 20% probably to old men who are into young girls. Maybe there's a Sarah Silverman joke in there somewhere?
Here is a gratuitous picture of the twins:

I think Ashley and Mary Kate looked better when they were 8 and 12 respectively.
Notice I didn't say Mary Kate and Ashley.

Good for you. No, i wouldn't have noticed that if you didn't point it out. What is your point?

w/r/t Notice I didn't put Mary Kate and Ashley
I believe it is written "Mary-Kate."
It is proper to separate the "respectively" with a comma.
It is also proper to spell out the numbers one through ninety-nine.
A grammatically correct rendering would read:
I think Ashley and Mary-Kate looked better when they were 8 and 12, respectively.
Notice I didn't say, "Mary-Kate and Ashley."
I thank you for your time.

its very sad that even thought you pionted it out, you yourself didnt follow the rule of spelling out smaller numbers.

I think it's great, really. They should just retire and live on an island. Looking at them, it just depresses me. How come people so stupid get so much more attention than DC an BO, even Jay. Jay Johnston should be getting work, that guy is hilarious.

How about if I had said "Notice I didn't say TV...." ??? Does that make more sense. My subtle reference got demolished.

you didnt give enough info for it to be a reference. plenty of people say stuff like that. now, had you said something about them not being your friends, we would have noticed it.

I ended up sounding like one of those people who say "you know I still haven't seen Titanic". Ouch.

actually i made it of recycled teen magazines, it gets a little soggy when its humid out, and ashleys eye is starting to droop, or is it Mary-Kate?

Wow-- what a breakthrough.
I learned that-- (in no particular order)
a) MADtv once had a fan named "mad tv fan" --someone whom actually identifies themselves as a MADtv fan.
b) AndersLevant once led the "Grammar Gestapo." What a conjugator. Whatever happened to that rascal?
c) tjamick loved used tampons. Enough to fashion garments out of them. Very MacGuyver.
d) If agent_PUNT is going to remember this place for what it "once was," he must have Alzheimer's. Plus some quirky preteen "ewww" sort of attraction to the younger MKA.
e) I'm willing to use the "MKA" shorthand for Ashley and Mary-Kate.
f) DoctorDelicious is a genius.
Awesome....
