Welshman Rhod Gilbert has won a BBC comedy competition at the Edinburgh Festival.
Gilbert, from Carmarthen, west Wales, won over the judges at the BBC Three New Comedy Awards on Monday night, hosted by Paul O'Grady.
He was on stage for eight minutes at the George Square Theatre, in front of 500 people, including the head of BBC Comedy, Jon Plowman.
He was one of six finalists and he talked about his life growing up in rural Wales.
He names Eddie Izzard and Max Boyce as his comedy inspirations.
