I just saw Bob doing a Miller Lite commercial during the Final Four. He was up on a podium asking people to vote for Miller as the President of Beers because this is America and we don't have "Kings" like some beers claim. It was amusing, if only for Bob's always great delivery, and a 60 second spot. Anyone else see this?

i saw it a couple of times this weekend. i thought it was pretty lame. even my overwhelming man-crush for bob couldnt make me like the commercial. it seemed kinda dumb. the premise was there, they just didnt go anywhere with. maybe i'm just being an overcritical dick here. probably.

It was a beer commercial, not a third year english-lit. class.

i realize that. i'm just saying, i kinda expected more just because bob was involved.
like it would be great if the next ad has miller beer out campaigning, kissing babies, speaking at schools promoting beer, etc. that would be kinda funny, though i'm kinda drunk as i write this so maybe it wont be so funny in the morning.

why the hell am i listed as a guest? too much swearing? or not enough swearing?
beer comercials can't have children in them can they? I think that's illegal. I know with hard liquor ads you can't have anyone who is under 25 in the ads.

I saw this ad and was like "What the Fuck?" Miller Lite? Fuck that shit. Heineken, OK, but Miller Lite, really...NASCAR in town?
Anyway, Can you imagineer "Today on Holly Wood Squares, Miller Lite's Bob Odenkirk"

the only thing worse than that would be any show that starts "Here's your host: Louis Anderson!!!"

When I first saw that commercial, I was excited because I saw Bob and I think the adrenaline rush from that made me think it was better than it was. Upon further review, it really is just kind of blah.
That said, if it makes Bob some money and he then turns that into something funnier than I say great. In that case, he's just playing the game of life here in the good old U.S. and dealing with the consequences of the capitalist market which dictates that Survivor is a better show than Mr. Show.
I also think that the premise of the commercials could lead to something funnier. As much as they've been ran, I simultaneously cringe about and look forward to the possibility of more commercials throughout the whole 2004 election cycle. Here's hoping for the best!
Oh, I'm new here so I'm sure you all have knowledge about this already, but there's a great Yo La Tengo video called "Sugarcube" that features Bob, David and John Ennis. You can view it on the Matador Records website at:

Not having HBO, it was how I was introduced to the world of Mr. Show.

Just saw a second commercial involving Bob "debating" a horse, so looks like what you said above is what they're doing. And this one has Bob yelling at the horse, which is good because Bob yelling = funny

I think Bob owes us. If he truly cared about us he would stay out of the main stream media. What a sell out. Next he'll be writing for SNL or some shit like that. What a prick.

I thought it wasn't that great. Although it encouraged me to drink even though I am under legal age.
