I saw this commercial for one of these compilation album thing-deals called "Buzz Ballads". I'm thinking that anyone who owns this music collection is probably not somebody I'd want to hang out with or date or whatever. I mean, "Monster Ballads" I could forgive. Seriously, come on! They taught us how to love! They taught us how to LIVE!! Who can dispute that? It's clearly factual information! But, "If you could only seeeeeeeeeeeeee the way she..." WOAH!!! FUCK!! Has anyone NOT changed the channel yet?

Here's the rest of what's on this album:

Disc 1
01 Lightning Crashes | Live
02 Champagne Supernova | Oasis
03 If You Could Only See | Tonic
04 Glycerine | Bush
05 Doll Parts | Hole
06 Santeria | Sublime
07 Hemorrhage (In My Hands) | Fuel
08 A Long December | Counting Crows
09 Counting Blue Cars | Dishwalla
10 Linger | Cranberries
11 Hanging By A Moment | Lifehouse
12 Runaway Train | Soul Asylum
13 Til I Hear It From You | Gin Blossoms
14 Here's To The Night | Eve 6
15 What Do I Have To Do? | Stabbing Westward
16 Out of My Head | Fastball

Disc 2
01 It's Been Awhile | Staind
02 Jumper | Third Eye Blind
03 Wasting My Time | Default
04 Everything You Want | Vertical Horizon
05 Sex And Candy | Marcy Playground
06 Far Behind | Candlebox
07 The Freshmen | The Verve Pipe
08 Take A Picture | Filter
09 What It's Like | Everlast
10 Something's Always Wrong | Toad The Wet Sprocket
11 World I Know | Collective Soul
12 Desperately Wanting | Better Than Ezra
13 Angry Johnny | Poe
14 Save Me | Remy Zero
15 Easy | Faith No More
16 Smells Like Teen Spirit | Tori Amos

Anyone who purchases this album should be tortured quite a lot.

I could probably go off on a long rant about ANY of these songs. I'll just start with the first one. Stop me if I've brought this up here before: Ever see Live doing "Lightning Crashes" on MTV Unplugged? The fucking audience actually starts CLAPPING along!! It is just GORGEOUSLY awkward! I wanted so badly for the singer guy to stop and say, "Um, ya know, this REALLY isn't that kind of song, you fucking dolts!!!!!!!!"

Was the theme song to your senior prom 'Good Riddance' by any chance? I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm pretty sure the theme to my junior prom was the Pussycat Dolls song.

claiming firsties on making fun of the buzz ballads comp is funnier than actually making fun of it

I'll be honest, I think it may be better than "Good Riddence"

I heard they played it at my senior prom. I chose to see Mike Birbiglia instead. I feel I made the right decision.

Well, yeah. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway.

I at one point owned a Limp Bizkit CD bought from Wal*Mart

I used to own Korn and Limp Bizkit cds. Seth thinks my music choices still suck, though.

How old are you? These songs are great, I can't wait to get them. Monster ballads suck, I was there when they were hot and am still here and they are definitely NOT. 70's and 80's music is about the almighty male "identity crisis" which generally goes on for a man's entire life. The music on these cds are the original alternative bands. I absolutely love them. Easy to sing to, easy to listen too and there aren't any male faces made up like the best french whores when I visualize them. It's just about the music, not the image. Make fun of anything, but not of original music.:p

What a creepy entrance.

Not all of these songs suck (e.g. "Santeria") but most of them do. I used to LOVE this kind of music when I was in 4th and 5th grade, hearing them played 24/7 on Houston's "alternative" station which, oddly enough, was (probably still is) called "The Buzz."

I'll let someone else reply to the rest of your post. The line I quoted was the only part of it I understood (19, by the way). While you're waiting you can sing these lyrics outloud to yourself.

Desperate for changing
Starving for truth
I'm closer to where I started
Chasing after you
I'm falling even more in love with you
Letting go of all I've held onto
I'm standing here until you make me move
I'm hanging by a moment here with you

Forgetting all I'm lacking
Completely incomplete
I'll take your invitation
You take all of me now...

I'm falling even more in love with you
Letting go of all I've held onto
I'm standing here until you make me move
I'm hanging by a moment here with you
I'm living for the only thing I know
I'm running and not quite sure where to go
And I don't know what I'm diving into
Just hanging by a moment here with you

There's nothing else to lose
There's nothing else to find
There's nothing in the world
That can change my mind
There is nothing else
There is nothing else
There is nothing else

Desperate for changing
Starving for truth
I'm closer to where I started
Chasing after you....

Just hanging by a moment (here with you)
Hanging by a moment (here with you)
Hanging by a moment here with you

A lot of these songs are good, but like Scotch said they are a little dated. Also, I think there are better places to get these tracks than a bargain compilation.

Hemorrhage (In My Hands) | Fuel

funniest song ever besides that one that staind guy sang where fred durst says "this is the real mother feel". did he curse originally? probably. fuck i hope not.

GOD I MISS STAIND GUY.

Also, right after that Hanging By A Moment song got popular they played a sports bar down the street from me. right next to a miniture golf course. they're probably still there if ya wanna hang out.

I remember laughing about that song with my friends when it came on the radio because the DJs had to say it featured Fred Durst when all he did was spout that line.

I have to say one of the only Madtv sketches I liked was the Almost Famous parody with Limp bizkit.

He actually says, "Biloxi! This is the real mother fuckin' deal, y'all!".

I know this because my brother used to have the cd. He also liked Creed. God, now that was a horrible band.

I rate songs based upon Karoake-able. If you arent going to be karoaking the song up one day, then why listen to System of a Down?
Actually, Ive never done Karoake, except to christian rock ballads, and then only on Sunday, in the shower, if no one is watching, except Jesus, and Im touching myself, and repenting, every other stroke, while thinking about the girls from T.A.T.U.

Someone refresh my memory, but I think Bobcat had some story about meeting the singer guy from Live. As I recall, they ran into each other at some big, multi-artist show somewhere. Bob tried to be courteous, but Live-guy was a HUGE dick to 'im. Then, later on, some famous mutual friend (can't remember who) asked if they'd met. At that point, Mr. Live gave Bobby a very friendly and very phony greeting. I wanna say that Bobcat called him out on it, but clearly I don't remember much of anything here. I think I heard it on the old Comedy World Radio Network's "Un-Cabaret" show.

Somebody PLEASE fill in the gaping holes here.

So... Is Live christian or something? I can't figure what the fuck they're supposed to be. What is the deal with these rat-tailed bastards. Are they trying to be R.E.M, U2, or Jars of Clay?
