As reported in next week's issue of TV Guide magazine, Sarah Jessica Parker will play a "very funny, sexy French teacher" in Strangers with Candy: The Movie, the big-screen supersizing of Comedy Central's cult high-school satire (which stars sometime Sex guest Amy Sedaris). Parker's real-life husband, Matthew Broderick, is also on board as a fellow "who comes between [gay teachers in love] Jellineck and Noblet." More big stars are expected to join the cast as well.

how the fuck does strangers with candy get a movie while mr. show scripts sit around collecting dust? dont get me wrong, i liked strangers with candy and it probably is a lot easier to turn into a movie than anything from mr. show but seriously. what the fuck.

by the way, does anyone have the 1st season dvd? i'm thinking of getting it but i'm wondering if it's worth it now since comedy central has started showing reruns of the show again now.

Do you mean should you get the first season of Mr. Show on DVD or Strangers w/ Candy on DVD?

Because if it's the former, then yes. I haven't seen SwC yet.

Strangers with Candy is sure-footedly worth many a hand-claps. I've merely viewed it on DVD as I am a Comedy Central deprived Canadian. It's almost up there with Mr.Show in terms of funny- especially Stephan "shut your mouth!" Colbert. Does anyone know if he will be in the movie version?

I bought both season dvds of swc merely on word of mouth (also Canadian). It started kinda slow but kicked my ass about 4 eps in. I would recommend purchase.

i love the episode where they put on "raisin in the sun" and make all the black kids be extras. that was fucking hilarious.

So I guess this movie never happened? Am I wrong? Prove it.
