Anyone see this movie? I just saw it for the first time tonight, apparently five years late.

Here I am, I'll be damned if this ain't some shit
Come to spread the butter lyrics over hominy grit
It's the low killer death trap, yes I'm a jet black ninja
Comin where you rest at, surrender
Step inside the ring, youse the number one contender
Lookin cold booty like your pussy in December
Nigga stop bitchin, button up ya lip and
From Method all you gettin is a can of ass-whippin
Hey, I'll be kickin, you son, you doin all the yappin
Actin as if it can't happen
You front and got me mad enough to touch somethin
Yo I'm from Shaolin, Island, and ain't afraid to bust somethin
So what cha want nigga, ya punk nigga
I got a six-shooter and a horse named Trigger
It's real, ninety-four, rugged raw
Kickin down your god damn door

Yes I saw it. I enjoyed it. When Orny Adams tells Jerry "all my friends are getting married and have jobs on Wall Street"...

Jerry's look of disgust is marvelous. God that life sounds fucking horrible!

Adams was the highlight of this flick.
He sorta helped illustrate the split between comedians who are in the industry primarily to "make it" and those who are there to become good and have fun.
Plus, his spikey hair was a riot.

Orny Adams is the first and only comedian I've ever truly wished to fail miserably.

My favorite part was his hissy-fit in Montreal after he tried to brag onstage about having his face on the front of the National Post, only to discover that no one had seen it because no one really reads it (in Montreal, anyway).

I saw Orny in Dallas a month after I saw the movie and he was a whole lot funnier in person. But being in Dallas, most of his jokes didn't go over too well with the "Red Staters" but that just made him funnier. Plus this was back when all the Red State, Blue State rivalries began.

His first line on stage was mumbled, "I can't believe I'm in a fucking Red State... FUCK"

Anyone watch the "Jiminy Glick" interview with Orny Adams? It was kind of awkward. A big part of Glick's schtick is that he's interviewing people who are household names, but he doesn't really know who they are and doesn't have positive things to say about what little he does know of them. When you take the "household name" part out of the equation, it's no longer about bringing someone down a peg or two. I just feel uncomfortable watching it, for more than the usual "Primetime Glick" reasons.

I think Orny Adams should go on tour with Dat Phan, Dane Cook, and Christopher Titus. And you know how they always have these really cute names for these big, multi-comedian tours? Well, this one could be called "Plant a Pipe Bomb on our Fucking Bus NOW!"

Or something like that.

I can think of no greater accomplishment, save for adding Russell Peters to the bill.

I think its interesting that Orny was more or less the star of the movie. I didnt know that when I rented it.

It was just really an interesting perspective to watch Orny living like the rest of us, his home environment and everthing, and then watch that in comparison to Jerry's life.

I thought it was a great documentary. But I remember when it came out, playing at the tiny art theatres in my town, people came out and all they said was, "It wasnt very funny."

Hey, how many times a day is Seinfeld on where you live?

Fox shows him three times here (6:30, 10:30, 11:30). And then TBS shows him twice.

That makes five for me!

Also, do you guys watch the Wheel? My favorite ones are when they go to Vegas or Hawaii!

hey kids, this is a pretty good book. not too terribly weighty as to slow the narrative, and an engrossing story to make a pretty worthwhile read. very relevant to me at the time i was reading it, but pretty relevant anytime.

Carter Cox is 38, a talented but dissipated freelance photographer living in New York's East Village with his sad dog and his bad habits.

it's about the hedonic treadmill. plus it has some sexy.

Sounds interesting. Have you read Choke? That had some sexy in it but was also very disgusting.
