This is good. Both pro-war and anti war people will love this movie. Even if you don’t like war movies, this is good. It’s not about war it’s about the soldiers.

That's about as off topic as my post about the new Werner Herzog DVD boxed set.

Speaking of off topic, I am still finding myself hypnotized by your avatar Klaus.

2005 may be the worst year for film ever. and that's saying alot because 2004 really really sucked.

i think the last five years have produced maybe 1 or 2 movies i'd wanna see more than once, and that's pretty sad because i just watched Celtic Pride last night on HBO and really enjoyed it.

I think the last good year for movies was 2001, but I haven't seen king cong yet so maybe there is some small hope for 2005 still.

Oh yeah and jarhead had a few good moments but for the most part it totaly sucked. I like jake gillenhol better as a gay cowboy, the role suits him and his small penis.

I want to see King Kong, Chronicles of Narnia, The Producers and that Rosemary Clooney movie that Jeff saw and liked yet wont admit he liked on the board because he has to keep up the apperence of a snobby film buff while in reality he's a push-over for a handsome man's smile.

If all of your mothers are dead by then, see Wolf Creek on Christmas.

I went to wolf creek in third grade and it wasn't all that scary.

As for that clooney movie it was somewhat boring and black and white.

But I do like my mcarthyism and hate me some damn communists.

No, not the black and white one, the other one. It's not called Syria, but it's called something very similiar to Syria.

I love you.

That wasn't aimed at anyone (except for you)
who's you?
I don't know
who are you?
Who am I?
Who's who?
what?
Anyonone no what i was going to type here?
Why am I hitting the submitt button?
I really need to begin revising my posts before making them real.

I had to quote this just for the small penis line, that made laugh...thank you

i'm not going to see wolf creek on principle because it's advertising itself as being based on true events and it's not. that's the cheapest shittiest way to promote your movie (except when it was supposed to be funny, like with fargo).

you can save time by getting war, a-rabs, and george clooney without the unwelcome presence of matt damon, and with the always entertaining marky mark (i seriously find him hilarious), in "three kings". you will also get to sit on your couch.

Does anyone else think The Big Hit is one of the best terrible movies of all time?

If it's on tv, you can bet that I'm watching it.

Jesus Christ, I agree.

This year was the worst because BOTH The Amityville Horror and The Exorcism of Emily Rose came out with this shitty advertising scheme. It's awful because fucking morons run around believing this shit actually happened. Yes, Ryan Reynolds really battled demons and survived; that's why Waiting failed.

Shut up and watch a potentially good horror movie.

I've heard that way too many times. Horror is a lost art. 10:1 this movie sucks ass. The last good horror movie I saw in the theatre was the Dawn of the Dead remake which I only appreciated in retrospect. I really do hope it's good and if it is, please say so. I love horror movies but the past decade has been pretty much devoid of decent theatrically released horror (Blair Witch was OK but was hyped so much it just became a gimmick which was probably the point). I may be way off. Please correct me if I am.

edit: The Scream trilogy was pretty good and the first I Know What You Did...were pretty fun. Other than that?

exactly. and yeah taint i'd say there's about a 3 percent chance of wolf creek even being as good as a piece of shit like saw 2.

I haven't seen Saw or the sequel. It seems like I should like them but I haven't mustered up the enthusiasm to see either. That, in it's self, is a fair indicator that they're not worth seeing. Plus, Cary Elwes is and will always be the guy from Princess Bride to me even though I know he is a good actor and doesn't deserve to be type casted as such. I miss the cheesy gory rollicking good fun slasher movies of the 80's. I really do.

About Wolf Creek, I used to know more about it, but I think quite a bit may have been editted out from the original Australian version. Being mad about the advertising is just being a silly goose, they did the same thing with Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
About no good horror movies, lots of super-limited US releases of amazing Japanese and Korean horror this year (like, a whole two I can think of). Also, High Tension, come on, that was fun. But American studios now think horror is for 13 year-old boys and yes, won't let anything that actually deserves the title of "horrific" come out. Devil's Rejects? I don't know, I still have to see it.

The point is, you're all wrong, I'm all right.

I just got some promo stuff in the mail for Hostel. A t-shirt that I am pretty excited about because it fits me well and some Hostel nail clippers.

I'm not sure the significance of the nail clippers. Maybe somebody goes around killing people with the little file on it. Now wouldn't that be something.

Horror movies suck pretty much. Usually they go one of two ways: they are so stupid and only scare children or morons or they abandon being scary and just try for a gross out/disgust factor.

Where is genuine adult suspense and terror?

I'm not sure the significance of the nail clippers. In one of the commercials you see a person about to get their toe cut off with a bolt cutter so that may be the tie-in.

I was going to post an edit, but then the chances of you knowing how awesome Hostel was may go unnoticed.
Very intense and funny and boobs, but I wish they had kept the original ending I'd been hearing about? I dunno. Waiting for an unrated DVD.

Hostel gets so hostile, that I give it two thumbs on the floor! this is Gene Shalit clone #6470, saying have fun at the movies!

You guys. Sorry, I have to share this. I stayed up all night, so I decided to go to the first showing of it this noon-time. I got bored about 2 minutes in (I'd only seen it about 10 hours earlier), so I started jotting down some fake notes throughout and making critical guffaws, hoping someone would notice. thank god, they did. after the movie, a middle-aged couple that was near me approached asking me what i was doing. i say "i write media reviews, movies, cds, tv, etc." the woman says: "ohhh, that's interesting, what for?" "mostly the gays", I said, and they just walked away. Totally worth it, fuck you.

Well, I wasn't going to watch it because I wasn't sure and then my roommate told me it was good and she watched Cold Mountain 50 times last month. I might see it now though. If it sucks, Steph I'm going to be mighty annoyed.

Hey I liked Slither a lot all you guys.

Here's an interview with James Gunn that makes him out as extremely annoying and full of dumb stuff! (talk about the remake of Dawn of the Dead and Romero)

http://www.horrorchannel.com/img/Media/SlitherJamesGunn.mp3

To be GOD way so serious, it's weird that that such an unpretentious, simply fun movie (Slither) would be conducted by such a self-righteous douchebag.
