Anyone listen to this?

I liked him on Comedy Central. I'll be ordering it soon and wanted to know if anyone else heard it.

I saw him a few weeks ago. He performed with Jeffery Ross and Todd Barry. He came on after Todd Barry which didn't sit well with me. I wasn't to impressed.

I had never seen or heard any of his stand up before. I had only seen him on the comedy central roasts. I thought his act was ok but not great. He did some audience work that I thought was pretty good. His love poems bit I thought was a bit lame. I think I like him more on the roasts when he's just making fun of people.

i think that love poems thing is his signature bit

It is his signature bit, and i didn't think it was that great.

He got two people to come onstage and play pian during it. The first girl could only play, oh fuck that shitty song that everyone knows that isn't chopsticks. Fuck what is it called, anyway that was kind of funny. But the actual bit was weak. I think he has some of them posted online or something.

Heart and Soul that's the song.

And, for my third ever post on this fine message board, I'm going to dredge up a thread that's been dormant for nearly a month and add my unrequested opinion...

I picked up "True Stories I Made Up" the day it came out...and it is definitely a solid pick up. 45 minutes of classic "I don't care if you like me, audience, this is some funny shit" Tosh goodness.

I LOVE the fact that, especially at the beginning of the set (taped at the Irvine CA Improv)--not everyone quite "gets" what he's doing or where he's going. The fact that no one laughed at the "Do you get the joke, Carnegie Hall?" line is testament to that.

I've worked with Daniel a couple of times--the guy is sharp and super fast...and I hope this CD gets heard by some of the people currently fawning all over Dane Cook. Not because they're similar, but Daniel deserves a few duckets for rocking the mic...

PS--If you haven't already picked up the CD, it does come with a DVD--but the only thing on the DVD is the edited to broadcast length Comedy Central Presents. A little sparse considering what Comedy Central Records put out with the two Dane Cook, the Mitch Hedberg and the Jim Gaffigan CD/DVD packages. (On the other hand, Harland Williams didn't even merit a DVD at all...)
