SNAKES ON A PLANE

Plot Outline: On board a flight over the Pacific Ocean, an assassin, bent on killing a passenger who's a witness in protective custody, let loose a crate full of deadly snakes.

Starring: Samuel L. Jackson

I can't wait.

It would be a different situation if it was made for the sci-fi channel. But, damn.

This is one of those movies where the director is just chewing his fucking nails and going "What have I done?" because he know he's going to become a laughing stock and the movie is going to fail miserably but enough resources have already been committed to it that there's no way it can be stopped.

Samuel L. Jackson said he'd only be in the movie if they called it "Snakes on a Plane"

true story. he said it on Letterman? or Leno or one of those.

Samuel what are you doing?! This does not live up to the formula 51 legacy!

what's with all the plane movies? Has the exact amount of time passed since 9/11 that Hollywood needs to pump out the stack load of shitty scripts involving planes to meet our need for "heightened" drama?

Studio executives are precious, and god, and the bible, RARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

They list it as "Horror / Thriller / Action", but it's gotta be a comedy. Kenan "Ivory" Thompson and David "Alan" Koechner are in it. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time they've worked together since their band broke up. Like my man said, "you can tear a building down, but you can't erase a memory". And I think we'd all have to agree, that statement has never been more true than it is today. And it probably never will be.

I think Samuel is gonna tazer those snakes...

Now my theory is this futre box-office smash is an ingenious allegory for the 9/11 hijackings. The Bush administration gives it a thumbs up for scarig people on planes even more than they already where.

Samuel Jackson apparently fought tooth and nail to keep the title of the film "Snakes on a Plane" when the studio wanted to change it to "Pacific Air 121."
I respect his cause.

Beaks: One of those films that you’re working on right now is… well, it’s called Pacific Air 121—
Jackson: Snakes on a Plane, man!
Beaks: Exactly.
Jackson: We’re totally changing that back. That’s the only reason I took the job: I read the title.
Beaks: Snakes on a Plane! That’s everything!
Jackson: You either want to see that, or you don’t.

See, you can tell this movie is full of brothers! Check out my man Kenan: he's all like "Shiiiit, I didn't ask snakes!" all wiping them off his arm and shit!

And that brother behind him? He looks like he just found out they cancelled the Wayans Brothers show! Relax, it's still on the WB in reruns!

I really hope there's a scene with an old Irish guy who sees the snakes and says, "St. Patrick's Ghost"! I don't know why; I just do. I do believe that there will be a reference to one of the black guys penises with the snakes though.

Strangely enough, at 2762 posts, one becomes mainstream, and therefore a sellout. Why cant you get back to your roots, Brain Stew?

I blame Samuel L Jackson. The fact is that if they had changed the name to whatever it was this would still be a treasure trove of comedy and not self parodying(??) meme.

I guess Crabs in my Underwear probably won't be the summer blockbuster that people predicted either.

I had fun seeing it. It's worth seeing in a movie theater full of people who are all reacting to the film differently. My audience had:

- a guy who threw something at the screen and got kicked out
- a cheering crowd when the guy got kicked out
- a guy who tried to be funny by saying something every 5 seconds, but failed miserably
- a crowd who strongly disliked that guy and let him know it
- more cheering whenever Jackson said or did something badass
- laughter whenever people died or ridiculous shit happened (plenty of that)
- plenty of people counting down to when the snakes were released
- a funny group of people around me who riffed the film pretty well when it wasn't being funny enough itself
- people dedicated enough to stick around to the very end, credits and all
- and other things
