Ok,
So I went to the King of TV Show last night at the UCB Theatre. It was a cool place I must say - better than M Bar in my opinion. It was a super funny. Jerry Minor was hilarious. I'm usually bad at retelling jokes and I can't seem to remember the exact phrases. When David Cross hit the stage, he had everyone laughing their asses off.
After the show, I hung around and saw David Cross and Jerry Minor hanging out by the stage area just talking. So I non-chalantly came up to them and just started talking. Very cool guys. Then they asked me if I wanted to go bowling with them afterwards. So I casually said "ok" Hell! I wasn't about to pass this up. They told me to meet them at the place - so I was a little skeptical thinking maybe they would just ditch me. So we went to this place called Lucky Strike Lanes I believe. It was around Hollywood and Highland. So we got outside and waited for them, and sure enough - a silver BMW rolls up with David in the driver seat. All the guys got out and we proceeded to the bowling alley. So it was me, my friend Carey, and David Cross, Jerry Minor and Jim Bruce. We walked inside and got our shoes and a lane. David wears a size 11 - for those inquiring minds that want to know. The guys bought us all beers and pizza, very cool of them. I was mostly interested in talking to David. I asked him about Arrested Development and he said he was very happy that the show is still going. He almost seemed a little emotional about it too. The only downside is he misses New York and his girlfriend. By the way - he's a really bad bowler. His total score was a 62. Anyway, so some crazy fan shouted out "That's David Cross, oh my god!!" And ran up to him. He seemed a little shocked She started ranting about how Mr. Show saved her life. He happily signed her an autograph and gave a big smile. I asked him afterwards how many times fans approach him a day. He said about 8-15 times. You could tell he was a little annoyed by it. He said something like "enough already with the Mr. Show, geez" Jerry Minor got flat out drunk and could hardly stand up. So he just sat out for most of the game. Then me and David started bowling in his place. I asked David if we would bowl side-by-side with me on the same lane - just for kicks! So we both grabbed our bowling balls and did some synchronized bowling, heck we even got a couple of strikes. Way cool, I must say. After 2 games of bowling, David said he had to get up the next day for Arrested Development. I asked if he could get me in to see a taping, but he said they won't allow it there. So we all shook hands - except Jerry Minor that drunk bastard! David got in his BMW and drove off. It has a Enterprise Car rental sticker on the back - so it wasn't his.
