I haven't listened to it, so I cannot comment any further on its quality, but I am just giddy at the things you all are going to have to say about this:

Dane Cook's Retaliation debuted at number FOUR on Billboard's Topp 100 album sales this week. He bumped Coldplay out of their spot, and now sits just below Mariah Carey (which, I suppose, is one thing he has going for him).
So, your opinion:
Sign of the Apocalypse?
Now the world is DEFINITELY gonna know America is stupid?
Good for him?
Let the games begin

I hope that AIDS materializes into a person (male person) and fucks him hard.

I think that would be who designed the cover art.
I was going to buy this, but then I realized that if I stand outside long enough, I can hear every bit repeated by 14 year old girls.

Dane Cook is to good comedy as Franz Ferdinand is to good music. It almost comes close to being decent, but at the same time misses by a fucking mile, which just means that it gets latched onto by morons who want to feel like they "get it", and then they bother me with it because they think we have similar tastes.
To summarize, I'm sweaty and angry.

Yeah, so what gives? I can remember other threads on this site where folks claimed Dane Cook was the harbinger of sorrow when it comes to stand up. That his humor was about as astute as Carrottop's, but without all the cool props.
And another thing, is it good for comedy when any comic gets this popular? Like, will people who got into stand-up because their friend made them watch Dane Cook, and they laughed a little, end up becoming a connseiur (sp?) of good comedy, or will having the first comedic taste be Dane Cook ruin a palate for life?
No change in the charts yet-- Dane holding steady at number four on the general albums chart. When you check out the "Top 10 Comedy Albums", however, things get more scary. Six of the ten top selling comedy albums are from "The Blue Collar Comedy Tour". Larry the Cable Guy holds the Number Two spot, and the bottom ten are rounded out with a BCCT compilation, and then individual albums from each of the members. The only sort of hope is Mitch Hedberg, who takes the number three and number five slots and who both smart and talented, and, of course, dead. A good career move, appearantly, but a bit phyrric, if you ask me.
