Oh man today was like a one on five with my love for Mr. Show against others scrutinizing. Most of my friends adore Mr. Show, but today I was outnumbered by non-Mr. Show fans. Once many of them declared their love for Andy Milonakis, in which I did not wish to carry on the conversation any further.

What is their beef with Mr. Show? Are they not getting it? Do they think it too juvenile (Though if they dig Andy M, that seems unlikely)? Make these fuckers explain what they mean, and then systematically destroy their opinions.

I honestly can't imagine a person I would be willing to have a conversation with that couldn't find some humor in Mr. Show. I can see some bits offending the religious (which I'm not) and some offending the hippy generation (which I am also not) and some offending certain racial groups or sexual orientations (I am a member of both a racial group and I have a sexual orientation), but the moment they get done pissing on one group, they turn the stream on another-- everyone gets equal satire-- so if they've watched it for more than a few minutes, surely they've found something to laugh at.

On the other hand, sometimes obscurity and derision are the best indications that soemthing is original and important. Picasso (I think) said all new art should be ugly because if it is not, then we recognize it as something we are comfortable with, which means it isn't all that new. Perhaps the same goes for comedy?

Yeah, they laugh at it all the time, yet they say they don't like it, may just be to piss me off. For some reason my brother really likes the first two seasons a lot more then 3 + 4. I thought 3 + 4 is when they really started getting it going.
