They made only did 6 episodes this season with pretty weak ratings, but it was still renewed for next season.

So...I just saw a working print tonight at the Loew's on 67 & Broadway.

It ran about 2 hours, so they still need to do some cutting. It drags a bit in the middle. There are some really, really funny parts to the film. There are also way too many instances where it sounds like they were too in love with what they improv'd on the set.

Steve Carrell's character is played pretty straight, as in, he's not a simpering unbelievable super-geek like the poster would lead you to believe. He has a (flimsy) reason for not having sex. He also has an apartment filled with comic books, video games, and action figures. It was supposed to be sad and funny; I, however, was ridiculously jealous, which made me realize how lucky I am that I've ever had sex.

Overall, I'd give the cut I saw a B-. If they cut some of the superfluous jokes in the middle, it might be a B+. Worth seeing.
