About a week ago, i went to an open mic night and did a sketch. me and some guy, we'll call him Dan (that was his name) got on stage and told them that we were from an Improv group called "Father and Son Fun" and that we were gonna do an improv game called "Name That Tune". I had Dan cover his ears and make some noise, and i whispered into the mic "My favorite song is Stairway to Heaven". Then i asked for a location. My brother, who was planted in the audience said "A garage!".

"Okay," i said "Dan will be the machanic and I'll be the man coming in to get her car fixed. Aaaaaaand scene!"
"Hello sir, how can i help you?"
"well, i was driving my car, and i looked out the window and saw this lady, she was buying a ---"
"Stairway to Heaven," he said in a slightly angry voice.
"Great! You got it! Everyone, give dan a hand!"
"You choose Stairway to Heaven every time we do this bit."
"well, it's my favorite song."
"so? why can't you pick something else just one time?"
"because that would be dis-honest to the audience."
We argued for a couple more minutes, then turned around and whisper-screamed at eachother. I turned back and said "okay, we're gonna try this again. We're gonna need a voleunteer from the audiance."
we got some guy to come up. he introduced himself and then i said "this time, Rick here is gonna take my place, and dan's gonna do the same part."
then i whispered into Rick's ear "okay, this time the song is stairway to heaven."
They did the scene a second time and of course, Dan guessed it right away. He started to yell at me for telling him "Stairway" again, and i started to yell at Rick, telling him that the sing was Freebird. Dan got angry and left the stage, i told the crowd that i was sorry for his attitude and left the stage leaving Rick up there by himself.

Well, thats about it. sorry for wasting everyones time.

Okay, I'm gonna do this on the 4th at an open mic run by a friend. I want to have a new ending - something less awkward, even though thats part of the sketch - but i can't think of a song line popular enough to use. I had written one where the other guy gets pissed at me and says something like "why do you always do this? I love improv! it's my life. It's my wife."
"Heroin."
"You got it!"
but only about 2 of the people i've tried it on got the reference, despite the fact that I say the song title. Does anyone have any ideas?
