The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC) held a contest to find "the funniest 3 minutes of radio comedy"...

They said you could enter anything aslong as it wasn't over three minutes and as long as it wasn't offensive (they used HBO as an example of stuff NOT to submit)

So my co-writer and I submitted 3 sketches...

one was a stupid bit about great moments in Canadian history... it was lame but it was safe..

the other two were semi-risky..but nothing BAD... if anything we made them light-kids in the hall style sketches... where it's a tad bizarre but has a good direction.

anyways...

here are the finalists.

Notice my name is NOT on the list.

hence the big FUCK the CBC.

PLEASE go listen to a few of them... and tell me you don't think YOU or I could have done better.

i wouldn't mind losing to quality stuff.... but this shit is hacky.

I picked one at random ("Under a Chair") and the first 30 seconds of it is a good idea for a short bit, but then they cut to piano music for the next 2.5 minutes. I hope that person loses.

But yeah, give us some of your stuff.

The stuff we submitted is in script format only.

For obvious reasons I'm not going to post any of it in a public forum....

but if any of you people want to see a copy of the scripts just IM me with your e-mail addy and I'll e-mail it to you.

I'm confident that my shit is better than all those hacky mother fuckers.

Listen to all of them... there are about 4 people who are just doing Blue Collar comedy shit.... 2 people doing "i'm an old woman with saggy boobs" jokes...

the only good joke on there is the guy in Alberta who talks about his kindergarden reunion....

man if things didn't work out perfectly for me as soon as i started, i'd probably just give the fuck up. i mean it's obviously a sign.

Well, considering everyone else's stuff was in an audio format, that might have been part of the problem. Yes? No?

Punt, maybe the CBC isn't the problem. Maybe YOU'RE the problem.

I always find it sad when people can't get the clue that they are shitty a writer/actor/performer/comedian/canadian. SUre, blame it on the CBC. It's never YOUR fault

Hey Taint, you could sumbit a script or an audio clip... if you submitted a script they would have produced it for you and then air it. Yeah
