View Full Version : Help Keep Arrested On The Air

As you may know, Fox has reduced it's episode order of Arrested Development and the show is now well on its way to cancellation. On the off chance you want to take a break from apathy, here's some stuff you can do:
1. Get as many people as you can to tune in this Sunday. Hopefully a ratings spike in the wake of such news will make a statement.
2. Visit the following sites and get in on the action. All three offer petitions you can sign:
A great site that's working on an idea to pool funds to send a shitload of something gimicky (bananas or whatever) to Fox.
The official forum
-http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showforum=695
3. Write or call Fox. I'm told snail mail works the best. Keep comments positive and include details such as your age, location, the affiliate you watch it on, and how many in your household watch.

none of that will work
the show is dead, move on
also, telling your friends to watch won't do any good unless they have one of those nielsen boxes.

A quality show is dying, and you're taking Mr. Show jokes out of context.
Either help, grieve, express your doubts, say something funny, OR POST YOUR STUPID BULLSHIT ON ANOTHER THREAD.

I certainly applaud the effort Rootsmoker is putting into his campaign to keep Arrested Development on the air, but it is futile. Once an entity like Fox makes up its mind about a programming issue, there is absolutely no way to change their tune. Once a decision is made to discontinue a program they immediately begin work on replacing the slot. This work involves so many factors including finding another show or switching around the existing schedule.
So, yeah, good effort but 100% futile.
Not entirely. I would think much of the reason they gave AD a second season was because of the outstanding support it recieved from its loyal viewers.

You could think that, but you'd be wrong. Fans cannot be regarded as 'loyal' after a single season because a single season is not enough time to appropriately analyze viewership and 'loyalty'. They are loyal only if the viewership stays the same or increases throughout the following seasons. I used to work for NBC

it's their fucking calling card. i was about ready to cut them some slack because they seemed to be playing their cards right with AD but now they're fucking irredeemable in my opinion.
the only way to solve Fox's problems is to ritualistically torture and execute one of their board members each time they fuck up with a promising show.
also i heard American Dad sucks and is exactly the same thing as Family Guy. i haven't seen it yet but i'm guessing that's about right. look at the website. http://www.fox.com/americandad/home.htm
OH COOL THEY GAVE QUAGMIRE A SPIN- wait a second

They played it after the superbowl. it was the most unfunny thing i've seen in weeks (and i just bought all of the "In Living Color" DVDs)

I dunno, AD did do a good job curbing the non sequitors and flash-backs FG is faamous for.

Wait a sec? You mean that TV kills quality shows?
Whoa! Are you serious?
Hold the phone- let me alert the fucking media.
So yeah- I'd tell you to "Fuck Off" back, if I felt it was worth it.
In like, really big letters. Very impressive. In my best "Big Boy" voice.
The situation is hopeless, by the way. Arrested Development has cancer of the ratings.
Sniff, sniff... Funerals are sooo sad. :(
Sad songs are Nature's onions.
Arrested Devleopment, RIP.

KK... I agree with you. I don't see the loyalty to the show, but rather to DC.
I dig the show, I dig DC, I dig graves.

Dear Arrested Development Fans:
Thank you for your e-mail and your passionate support of Arrested Development. While the show has finished production for its second season, contrary to the rumors you may have heard or read on the internet, it is NOT cancelled.
We at FOX love Arrested Development and we look forward to having the Bluth family back on FOX in the future – hopefully for many years. You can help make the show a bigger success by getting as many people as possible to start watching the show this Sunday and every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Sincerely,
Fox Broadcasting Company

Hopefully this is true and they're not saying this just to appease temporarily until we realize, "Hey they said the show wasn't cancelled. What happened?!?!"
I'm still gonna write my letter, showing my support for the show.

I'm still a bit shocked at the news.
Did anyone see David on Jimmy Kimmel the other night? I only caught the last few minutes of him being on (hadn't checked the listings). He came off more than a little bitter and the jokes he made could probably be considered bridge burners ("If you cancel Areested Development, what's left to do, Fox? A show about retards? Retards who are trying to find their real parents, and swapping spouses? Because that's all that's left!"). He also did a lame "magic trick that isn't a trick" bit. Too bad Kimmel seems like the only late night talk show that even wants Bob & David on with any frequency.
