I voted for Hilarious, although "Pretty funny but not great" would have been more apt. I'm glad I saw it though.

pseudo-indie cash in. contrived and unmemorable.

(i only watched 10 minutes of it)

The short film Peluca was hilarious. That's really what this is, it's a funny character and funny sets and all but a feature length movie seems like a stretch. I liked it but it's one of those movies that is funny as hell at the beginnign and then you get tired of it at the end.

i enjoyed it, but some parts where kind of slow and non-laugh-at-ible.

I thought it was really funny. Some of the things he said really reminded me of some of my friends in high school. This may surprise some of you here, but I wasn't the same super cool guy I am today when I was in high school.

wow you turned it off after he threw the wrestler out the school bus window and watched it bounce through the dirt on the way to school? i was hooked as soon as i saw that. i found something extra good about my dvd copy yesterday. we buy our dvds from The ChinaMall and when you turn on the DVD subtitles "What ever I want... GOSH!" turns into "I shall do what I please move over friend!" another subtitle said something about "sexual masterpieces" lots of non-sequator babbling that is fun to laugh at.

Quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. If Napolean didnt remind me of one of my friends though, the movie would have been unwatchable. I have just never seen such a pointless movie. The brother turning into a wigger was funny, and Napoleans one liners were funny.

So, I watched it last night. Maybe it was built up way too much, but I didn't think it was all that great. It was pretty funny, but all these fucking college hippies from Austin were claiming it to be the BEST MOVIE EVER MADE.

I shouldn't have listened to them, as I should have learned my lesson with that peice of fuck movie Donnie Darko.

I agree, Drew Barrymore is a stupid cunt, and the ending would've acually been awsome if they had used the original Tears for Fears version of Mad World.

Stabby kind of confuses me. If you look at his rarely used livejournal, his writing appears to be very good and well-crafted. It clearly appears as if he takes great pride in it. Yet his posts here have the look of someone who's just completely letting it go. The content has the same excellent quality, but here he doesn't seem to care as much about appearances. Which is kind of weird, because this is obviously a much more public "place." Most people fix up their appearances for entries into the public realm, and allow themselves to go in private. So, if this is the public place, Stabby for his own special reasons prefers to look better in the "privacy" of his own livejournal. In conclusion -- which (as Stabby clearly knows) every great writer uses to begin their conclusion -- Stabby is intriguing. And I like his spunk.

Stabby has a degree in journalism, but he's also a character poster, so he posts the same way most idiots on the internet do.

sorry stabby.

The wedding Singer was on last night and I can confirm that as an actress, Drew Barrrymore is a stupid cunt.

Thanks. And sorry.

Very Bad Things was on showcase last night, and i watched most of it til he drove off into the desert with the dog and the quiet friend. I can't hate Jeremy Piven but i can hate that movie.

since it has come to my attention that every church youth group in the southwest worships this movie and quotes it relentlessly, my impression of it has now dropped from respectful reserve to severe dislike.

I didn't find it funny at all. Some of it was amusing, but I didn't laugh once.

The use of "The Promise" at the end was awesome, though.

And like Scotch said, this movie is a favorite of teenage Christians.

Same here. When it first came out, i had heard nothing about it and enjoyed it. I didn't love it, but i liked it.
Now my brothers video production class is watching and analyzing it.

Are you trying to group Texas in with the Southwest? Because if you are, you're an absolute piece of shit. Texas is itself and nothing else. Texas now; Texas forever.

We once had to analyze Breaking Away for a speech class.

jeremy piven gets more hair every time i see him. i guess he thinks if he gets plugs gradually, nobody will notice, even though there exists publicly available video footage of him going back 15 years. the american public may not be hip to his charade, but he ain't putting nothin' by me, man. I SAW PCU YOU CORPSE SCALP RAIDER, AND I CAN"T BE SILENCED FOREVER!

i didn't laugh once during napoleon dynamite. and i'm a giggler!

I finally saw this movie and I have to admit that I only laughed once and that was when the brother crushed the tupperware with the van and then drove off. And that was at most a slight giggle....more of a "Hehh..." than a laugh really.

My fiance thought it was decent. She was all like, "Didnt you think it was funny?", in that way that meant, "I thought it was funny now say something nice about it or I'm gonna pout all fucking night and say some smart assed shit like 'Sorry I wasted your precious time your majesty!!!!' or 'Maybe I can go back in time and get your 2 hours back, DICK!!!!'

Anyway I said, "Yeah it was ok, I just figured that it would be REALLY FUNNY. From everything I've heard it was supposed to be more "ha ha" funny."

I dodged a bullet.

I give it 3 out of 10.

Everyone who didn't see it within 9 minutes of its release feels this way unless they're a complete tool like your fiance. I wish you both luck in polluting the gene pool with your thick skulled cross eyed idiot children.

I like Napoleon Dynamite, come on stop being a jerk. "You're mom goes to college?" That is funny! also... "Can I use your guyses phone?" , "Is that a new kid or something?" etc.
Its possible I am too easily amused but I really think you should watch it again.

A big part of the reason that i hate the movie is because people always quote it. Please stop.

I must confess, a lot of the lines in the movie had me laughing, but more out of my own experiences than the movie. I have a friend who's stationed in Iraq right now that acts and looks like Napoleon.

But this reason for my enjoyment also contributes to my digust of it. I saw the movie on New Year's Eve and thought it was pretty funny. INSTANTLY upon returning to campus this semester, people are quoting it, saying it's their favorite movie, etc. THIS IS BULLSHIT. Napoleon and his friends are nerds and geeks. The people who say it is "THEYRE FAV MOVIE!!!11 OMG" would never associate with Napoleon in real life. In fact, most of the people who enjoy it are really popular Paris Hilton types that gave nerds a hard time in school!

I had to vent.

Cap'n, do you ever get laid? Maybe then you wouldn't be such a prick all the time.
