why don't they release any more than the first season two years ago or whatever? i find it hard to believe there is no market for it. i am heartbroken at this grave injustice, especially at a time when i am bursting with gift certificates. stroke my head and talk softly but reassuringly.

I'm not a fan of the show.... never seeing it... but it seems like you have a good point. I think there has to be a market for it...

but once again we go back to the arguement that they don't realease shit unless they think they can shelf it at every Best Buy... which they COULD do because they have the space, but they don't think it will sell so they just sit on it...

there there.... frit-frit.

How is it that Best Buy can stock all three sets of "Mr. Show", which the general public seems to have never heard of, and yet "The Larry Sanders Show", which seems much more widely known about and, frankly, more middle-America friendly, gets such shitty treatment. I understand that "Upright Citizens Brigade" may be a little too weird for Best Buy shoppers, but compared to Bob & David? I don't get it. I thought I saw something a while back about the release of a best-of collection, which I think has happened in other countries, but it hasn't happened here. Season 1 of "Larry" was a little light on extras, too. Not as light as the unfortunate "Curb Your Enthusiasm" sets, though! ONE unenthusiastic commentary from Season 1 and THAT'S IT! Hey, LD! Take a lesson from Christopher Guest! You have 10 times as much footage on the cutting room floor as you do in the actual episodes! You're telling me you don't have maybe 30 minutes per season of shit that was actually FUNNIER than the stuff that got in the episodes, but got cut so it wouldn't fuck up the story? And it's clear that you're not interested in doing the commentaries. We don't need to hear you doing more commentaries where you're just grumbling about having to do fucking commentaries. Fine. Let some of your other cast and crew do it!

We need to find a company to take up this cause, like Rhino Handmade or Criterion or something.

Maybe now that Jeffrey Tambor has been resurrected, we'll see some Hankmania. only the resemblance to Dr. Phil could keep hank marketing down.

Music! I haven't heard that officially about that show specifically, but I know that music clearance is a HUGE issue with getting A LOT of stuff released. And they used a lot of music on that show.

I was watching "The Surreal Life" the other day and I found it interesting that they used that sound-alike, non-copyright-infringing music. I don't watch MTV these days, so I'm not sure when this changed, but I know a TON of their shows used to contain ABSURD amounts of music. It must have something to do with running into problems getting old shows out on DVD because of that. They're probably going out of their way to not use music they have to PAY for just in case they might want to put one of their new shows out.

Still no new information on if and when we might finally get "The State", Sifl & Olly" or "The Idiot Box" out on DVD, by the way. BUT the un-aired third season of S&O is out, and I just found out that Anchor Bay is supposed to be releasing "Freaked" this summer, I think. ("Freaked" is the brilliant movie that Alex Winter & Tom Stern of "The Idiot Box" made. If you don't know either, you should.)

That's the reason it took so long for the SCTV DVDs to come out. The shows were filled with music and it costs a lot of money to get the rights to release it.

Dude, Sifl & Olly was the shit. Last year my girlfriend got me a "Cresent Fresh" shirt and the CD of songs from the first season. Its a great shirt to wear if you want people to be like, "What the fuck is your shirt supposed to mean? ....queer."

What's Sifly and Oily? Never mind, it must suck if you like it.

You could back up your whole hard drive on a floppy diskette. You're the biggest joke on the internet.
