this one's my favorite. that kid really should have been aborted.

That's the one that 'caught my eye' as well. That kid is, like, four years old. When fetuses get aborted they're not that fucking developed.
But then I thought about how it'd be kind of funny if a guy went to a school and shot a few kids, and on the news it said, "A man went into so-and-so elementary school and aborted six children."
I thought the "Real Doctors don't kill babies" was the funniest one.... I can imagine a doctor saying, "I'm so macho that I'm not gonna perform abortions....fuck the chick that's having her father's incestual baby...I'm a REAL doctor!"
BTW, where'd you find that wall of pro-life stickers?

Okay let's discuss:
Environmentalists are opposed to the destruction of nature. They are called compassionate, concerned citizens (CCC's).
BUT,
when I am opposed to the destruction of a natural birth (nature, hello!) I am called a "pro-life" nazi.
I see that as being extremely hypocrtical.
I make this arguement for accidental pregnancies, when nature beats science....NOT rape pregnancies, when assholes beat women.
If some girl gets pregnant with her boyfriend, that's just nature growing a new flower in her belly.
Whether or not you define it as "life" at that stage, you could compare it to a person running around digging up the seeds planted in gardens.
You get what I'm saying?
So, explain to me how one form of natural growth should be protected, while another shouldn't?
Thanks.
(the opinions expressed in the above post do not reflect the views of agent_PUNT, BUTM.com or any of it's sponsors. It is simple a dialogue I wish to explore. Thanks)

Human beings are capable of rational thought, and as such they should be given the power to make decisions. Nature has no one to speak for it, and that is why they need environmentalists. Trees are responsible for the oxygen that we breathe, while children are only a plague on this earth. Controlled birth rates! Vive le Japan hooah!

I think what you meant is "nature can't speak for itself, and that is why they need environmentalists"....
right?
Which is the same arguement I am making for people speaking out for unborn children... because they can't speak for themselves.

if god wanted fetuses to speak for themselves, they'd be able to talk.

Don't cop out TJ, you wanted to discuss... let's discuss.
Like I said... why do you fight to save nature in the form of a tree growing in the woods, but won't fight to save nature in the form of a human being born in the womb of a woman?

There used to be an anti-abortion van near where I live that had big pictures of bloody aborted fetuses all over it. Chopped up fetus parts and a huge fetus head being held up right in the middle. It was a real classy affair.

Please.

the earth needs tree's to survive. it doesnt need every child.
when a mothers health is at stake, or the baby is a product of violence, sometimes the only option is to have it aborted.

I am not arguing about in cases of rape/violence. I already stated that.

No, the Earth doesn't need trees to survive. Humans need trees so that we can survive. The Earth could care less about trees. I noticed the moon doesn't have any trees, but it seems to still exist. The Earth will survive with or without children.
If we want to survive we need compassion for all of nature that exists on Earth. Wouldn't that include natural conception?

the only EASY option is to have it aborted. You can't have only one option. Otherwise it's not an option.

Your argument seems to be that baby killing is incongruous with environmentalism. The counter-argument is that killing a human being is the most environmentally friendly thing you can possibly do these days.

Thanks, agent_PUNT. I appreciate you bringing your argument to this thread.
This is the one of the few things I actually have a strong opinion about, but suffer from the ironic fact that I cannot debate my side.

Trees don't need to pay for everything a sapling needs, trees aren't expected to love and nurture their saplings, trees don't have to go through life being a single-tree parent, trees aren't responsible for their seed growing up into an unloved maladjusted bastard tree that continues the cycle of bad tree-parenting.
Do you relate capital punishment to trees being cut down? Every tree I've asked about abortion never answers me so I kick them in the NUTS! Get it? I'm so awfully clever.

Why the fuck would anyone bother forming a strong opinion about abortion? It's just one of those things that people debate so they don't have to think about the fact that we're fucked no matter what happens to the dead babies.
PS: It prevents crime. Look it up.
agent_PUNT

yeah my semantics arguement was just a cheap shot.
Obviously my comparison is not perfect, but I thought it was a twist on the arguement.
Cutting down a tree is killing something that is already alive...
the debate with abortion has alot to do with "what are we terminating? Is it the life of a child? Is it just a seed?"
In the end it will come down to strong personal convictions of what is acceptable and what isn't. No matter what science can show people will believe what they want to.
If a tree was growing too close to your house you wouldn't be blamed for cutting it down. It's accepted.
So in the same sense, with abortion, when babies are a nuisance some people feel it is okay to abort it.
The major difference is that accidental pregnancies are preventable. A tree that grows too close to your house really isn't something you could have prevented (in a way it is but...)
It all goes back to prevention. A wonderful world where people are smart enough not to get pregnant at 16. You educate kids and we wouldn't be in this discussion.
Ofcourse, like CPT said our world is so fucked up that's not going to happen.
Oh and it doesn't help that the people in charge of your school system think that sex education is wrong.

If people want to have an abortion let em. I know if my girlfriend ever gets pregnant by some act of birthcontrol failure we are so getting an abortion, its been discussed.
And really everytime i masturbate and don't get a women pregnant with my sperm thats like 2 million some odd potential life cells right there. Thats fucking genocide man. And I save costs on the oven.
agent_PUNT
12-15-2004, 02:11 PM
wow, you actually made a good point.
Which is was probably an accident.
Just like your pregnant girl friend!
It all ties together nicely.
But seriously, I guess that would mean masterbation would be wrong too.
And there is no way I'm giving up masterbation.
So I'm back to supporting abortions.
Reminds me of that song from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life...
"Every sperm is special/every sperm is great/if a sperm gets wasted/God gets quite irate."

I totaly agreed with punt...untill he changed his mind. Abortion is cool in cases of rape, health issues for the mother, and incest, but accidental pregnancies can be given up for adoption. I just know to many people who where almost aborted. My girlfriend, one of my best friends, etc. Thats why I could never agree with it.

Like I said before, it gets clouded by personal feelings. If you didn't know anyone who was "almost aborted" then you wouldn't be so passionate or whatever. If they HAD been aborted you wouldn't even know that you were against abortions. Right?
If my girlfriend got pregnant I'd be moving in with Cpt in Denver Colorado. (wink, wink)

I hope this is a joke.
Because I fucking laughed.
Why the fuck is this in the Mr. Show & Cast section?
Shouldn't it be in general discussions?
To get it a little more closer to a Mr. Show kind of context, here's a David Cross joke: "My friends say 'Having a kid is so hard.' That's not hard. You know what's hard? Try talking your girlfriend into her third consecutive abortion. Now that's hard."

And then things took a very "General Discussion" turn.
It happens. A lot.
Speaking of abortions, did anybody see this week's South Park episode?
When they aborted the anti-christ inside of Kyle's ass...that was just sooo awful.... which made it sooooo funny!
Also the blood orgy was fucking over the top but that was probably one of the funniest scenes!!

i like southpark, i like abortions, and props to gogo for not just saying lol to people making fun of her
reverse props to me for actually saying props
if i say it again ill have to revert back to 1999 start listening to korn and wear pants that have 36" wide legs
ahhh memories
I don't gain anything.
I just think it's better that some low-life prick doesn't watch it because they get to miss out on an incredible show and it's their loss.

The episode in question (what's a gagortion? Rudy will await your foundation episode) has one of the best full circle moments ever.
The first time I saw it and Bob threw up in the clip at the beginning I thought to myself "that's random" and I didn't even clue in until the box landed in his hands...
fuck it made me realize how much of a hack I truly am.
Genius.
(this was a weak attempt to get it back on Mr. Show)
Does season 4 have the best links?
The Menocu one was pretty illogical but to me that made it even better.
Even though the Menocu link might be sort of weak, I still like the randomness of it all. I think "Show Me Your Weenis" might be my favorite episode just because of Jay Jonhnston's explicit description of his gayness and of course Wyckyd Sceptre's song "Gettin' the Shaft Again"... But then again it's hard to beat "Superstar Machine"...
(This is my weak attempt to help a_P get this back on the topic back of Mr. Show)
