That's right folks, The Sound of Young America has gone national... or at least to Mississippi and Alaska.

Our brand new holiday special will air December 23rd on KZSC in Santa Cruz, and at some time on WUSM in Hattiesburgh, Mississippi. It features interviews with Davey Rothbart (found magazine), Christopher Moore (The Stupidest Angel, Fluke), John Waters, the good folks from Mustaches for Kids, and more.

If you don't live in Hattiesburgh or Santa Cruz (or someplace in rural Alaska), email your local public radio station and tell them to carry this thing.

You can listen here

And by all means, let me know what you think...

I would probably listen to this in my car. If I knew how to request programming I would do it. Any ideas?

Yeah, how do you go about requesting things? I live in a college town, and there's a couple of stations that I'd be willing to bet would at least consider airing it.

It's pretty easy.

Wherever you live, there's probably a couple of public radio stations... in San Francisco, for example, there's KQED 88.5, KALW 91.7, KPOO 89.5, KUSF, KPFA, etc.

Visit their website and look for the program director or general manager's email... then send them an email that says you love all their shows, especially Car Talk or something, and you know about this show The Sound of Young America that you listen to on the internet, and they should carry it... and put our website in their (http://www.splangy.com/radio).

If you make donations to your local public radio stations during pledge drives, that's another great way to say something.
