Did anyone here ever used to listen to The Comedy World Radio Network? I've brought up little things about it in other threads in the past, but I didn't get much in the way of feedback, so I thought I'd start a separate thread and see if it goes anywhere.

I'm particularly interested in finding out something -- anything -- about a weekend show they had called (I think) "The One Hit Wonders' Radio Timeslot". It was a radio sketch show, essentially. I'm just wondering who the hell these people were, did they do anything else together, where are they now, etc. I can't seem to find any information on them at all. I can't even remember anything specific that they did on the show. I just remember it being strange and funny. It took me some getting used to. I mean, you just don't hear a lot of sketch comedy on the radio. And by the time I got into it, the show was kind of being phased out.

Another spectacular show was something to do with Beth Lapides' Un-Cabaret (http://www.uncabaret.com/). (Turn down your volume before clicking that link!) I forgot what they called the show exactly, but it had brilliant stand up from a lot of our favorite people. Beth also had another show weekdays, but that wasn't as good.

Crossy's old roommate, Greg Behrendt, had a weekday show called "The MANversation". That one never did anything for me. They had this slogan, "So thick with man talk, you could cut it with a FIST!" They eventually admitted that that was pretty lame.

There was a guy named Bill Chott (pronounced COT) who worked with Ahmet Zappa on "The Future with Ahmet & Kenedy" (that's Kenedy from MTV) and later on Ahmet's own show. Ahmet could be really funny, but he also got into a lot of lame, hacky, shock-jock bullshit. Anyway, Bill Chott was kind of a nutjob, but he did some GREAT stuff. He was on "The Dana Carvey Show" and can now be heard occasionally as the announcer on some of Robert Smigel's "TV Funhouse" segments on "Saturday Night Live", namely "The Ambiguously Gay Duo" and I think "The X-Presidents".

There was other stuff on there that might be worth talking about, but I've gotta go right now. Maybe I'll blab more about this stuff later. We'll see how this goes.

People who don't listen to sketch comedy on the radio I guess.

I don't know why this wouldn't work. Many of the sketches on Mr. Show are funny with your eyes closed. This is much like radio.
