Paramount has hired Don Rhymer ("The Santa Clause 2") to rewrite the screenplay of "The Honeymooners", an urban movie version of the classic TV series. Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Epps star as the Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton roles, respectively.

Chastened by the disappointing ticket sales of their most recent urban feature, "The Fighting Temptations," the studio asked Rhymer to work on the script in hopes of getting the film's budget down from the original $35 million down to a range of $25 million-$30 million. No word yet on who will play Alice and Tixie.
