Just trying to keep the movie board alive!

Pre-revolutionary Ernesto Guevara travels from his home in Argentina to Peru with his friend Alberto and an old shitty motorcycle. This is in its simplist form a 'road movie'. They travel from place to place, meet people, stuff happens, they learn..you know. The vistas and cinamtography are really beautiful, which is why i hated that it was subtitled. I hate having to look away from the picture to read the dialouge, I've never liked that, I'd rather have a poorly dubbed movie than a subtitled one but what can you do. Good movie though, they try to show how Che develops into what he would later become but they are a little too simplistic with it, I think. There's a part in the fourth act where they stay to help work on a Leper colony in Peru which is one of the best parts of the movie and made me get all woozy. Funny at times and way better than christmas with the kranks or wahtever other shit is playing in theaters now.

also the girl working the concession stand totally wanted me you could tell. She lingered after taking my money and looked at me with her head kinda down and eyes up and she had a lip ring! and i was like "i hate piercings!" (but i didnt say it out loud) then she smiled alot and asked me what movie i was gonna see and made me feel good and then i went ot watch the movie and my friend made fun of me becasue of it.

does it take place before or after he makes all that money designing those cool t-shirts?

during, actually...

he's running cross-country and he has this group of followers that like to run with him and stuff... anyway, a truck speeds by and sprays mud all over Che's face, and one of the guys behind him gives him their solid white t-shirt to wipe his face with... then Che gives him the shirt back with the muddy imprint of his face on it, and then the guy gets money signs over his eyes (a la the mr. show sketch)

anyway, that's why i didn't like the movie.

'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' and 'On the Road' crammed into a stuffy Latin mansack.
