I like watching them without commentary, but when I do put it on, I usually just listen to it as I'm doing something else.

You can interpret "doing something else" however you want. I don't care.

I like Gogo's efforts to talk about Mr. Show.

I only watch the commentary when I can't figure which episode I want to watch. Or I'll watch an episode then re-watch it with the commentary.

Or sometimes, I'll do other stuff that has nothing to do with Mr. Show.

Like I'll listen to David Cross stand up or I'll watch the Let America Laugh DVD

Other times I'm on this website.

I do have Let America Laugh which I fucking love. I have "It's Not Funny" but I can't find it and somebody stole my "Shut Up, You Fucking Baby!"

I should castrate the person who stole it, huh?

i always want to show my friends it was the commentary but i realize it's difficult enough to make them watch it without than to make them sit quietly and listen to people that they only really know about because of my non sensical rantings and ravings. It's kind of like in a perfect world we could all sit quietly and watch it together but it's about as likely as getting hit by lightening. Besides if they heard half of the comentary they would immediately know i was not as funny as they thought i was and call me a fraud.
but with the commentary is the best alone and without is most suitable for social gatherings.

I agree with you completely...

All my friends hate it when I want put on commentary for my favorite shows/movies when they're around, especially for Mr. Show, since it's so hard to follow for people who are not obsessors of the shows like we are LOL.

For a very long time, I couldn't watch the DVDs without the commentary.

Also check out the Ben Stiller Show DVDs -- Bob & David did commentary on some of those episodes, giving a little insight into some things about them and the show, and even Mr. Show.

Which episode do you introduce your friends to Mr. Show with? I use "The Velveteen Touch of a Dandy Fop". Maybe I am predisposed to liking the 4 voices within since I went to school for psychology. The charity part is insightful in its own way. It's also the introduction of Droopy and that pretentious guy with the record player. All in all, I think it displays the layered, sarcastic, hilarity of Mr. Show in all its glory.

I use Story of Everest.

"A Talking Junkie" because of 3 times 1 minus 1.
My friend was writting her thesis on hip hop and loved them plus Rap the Musical.

As far as solo repeated viewings go, commentary 90% of the time. That number goes down to 5% when viewing with others.

On a side note, how often do you watch your Mr. Show DVD's?

For me, I average 1 viewing of all seasons every 2-3 weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
