The Reason David Cross Hates Belushi

I guess this is why DC hates Belushi so much.

Comedian David Cross (Arrested Development) and actor Jim Belushi (According to Jim, Pinocchio) butted heads this Saturday at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard. Halfway through Cross' set, Belushi walked on stage and was given a mic. The crowd laughed as Belushi read from a prepared document recounting Cross' many jokes made at the expense of President George W. Bush and his administration. It became apparent however that Belushi felt it was no laughing matter as he accused Cross of being "unfunny, unpatriotic, and ignorant of the facts", he went on to chide Cross for statements made about the President that he felt were "treasonous", "slanderous", and likely to garner violence from those he "should watch out for". Cross responded by accusing Belushi of trying to "violate his First Amendment Rights" as well as questioning his motives for this seemingly premeditated attack against him. Belushi would not answer Cross nor leave the stage until Cross finally apologized to his fans and left. Belushi later apologized to the ticket holders but said that "People like [Cross] don't deserve to have the right to slander our country".

cross has hated the belush since 94 or so when they were in dystiny turns on the radio. cross was playing black jack between takes when the dealer asked him to get jim's autograph for her daughter who was a huge fan. david walked up to him and asked him to sign something and pointed at the woman. jim refused to sign it and said something along the lines of "maybe if she sucks my cock."

jim's blatant sexism pissed david off because he feels that hatred should be displayed in a more subtle fashion.

If my memory serves correct, at the start of Bobanddavid.com David was doing Cigar Corner and mentioning his hatred for the Belush, which was before September 11th, or at least before the war in Iraq.

Which in turn means that he was making fun of Belushi before it was considered "unpatriotic" to mock the President.

So the goddamn story doesn't add up.

First, if he DID make the story up I must sincerely commend him on his reporting style. What he wrote looks exactly like a small side-bar article you'd see online or in a newspaper.
