View Full Version : Stern disses Kenny

So, this morning on Howard, Robin was reading the news and she asked Howard if he knew who Tom Kenny was. He replied that yes he did know him and that he was a "power bottom". (They had just been discussing homosexuals.) Robin laughed and said that no, in fact Tom was the voice of Sponge Bob and she had a sound bite of Tom responding to reporters who asked if kids were disappointed when they found out that he was Sponge Bob. Howard started to play the clip and you could hear Tom say that, "Well, my older fans..." and then Stern cut him off and said something like, "of course kids are disappointed...I don't need to hear this." Robin moved on.
I can't help but think that Tom was going to give us all a shout out. His older fans know him as a primary Mr. Show playa.
Stern was ignorant of our Crossy, too. I like Stern but he really needs to get a clue.
Sorry if this is lame but I was bummed out. Genius silenced.
Damn.

That occured to me, too. Can't imagine that E! or Entertainment Tonight would consider this newsworthy. I just want Kenny to get his day in the sun.

Howard Stern thinks that he's pretty much the first, last and only person to ever get famous and why would you care about anyone else? I admire him for his fight against the FCC, but he's otherwise completely unfunny and uninteresting. I wish he woul kamikaze Michael Powell with a van full of explosives and do the world two favors.

I like Howard, so poo poo on you. I always thought Kenney was gay and one of the worst actors on Mr. Show. It made me wince every time he came on. Bibley was good though.

Maybe when the absinthe wears off you should go to church and see if your pastor can exorcise the fag demons that made you type that post.

I'm a fag because I don't think everyone involved with Mr. Show is a demigod? Get with it, Jack.
p.s. church is for gullible, naieve simpletons...and fags.

No you're a fag because Howard Stern on his best day doesn't hold a comedy candle to Mr. Show on its worst day, regardless of who the sketch stars. Get with it, Jack.
P.S.: If church is for fags then you're the pope, fag.

i just realized i don't like howard stern. thanks ! he really isn't funny at all - there is no point to his show .. what he just wants to be able to have midgets fart on the air? that's his big contribution to our fight for free speech? shut the hell up. say something that is even slightly interesting. that's what's great about mr. show it can be silly and ridiculous but in a smart / original way - well sometimes. and it's actually funny. (without the use of midgets - imagine!)

Doesn't his PR people say he is the original "Shock Jock"?
That's reason enough to think he's a big pile of shit.
But he is the lesser of two evils, I'd rather have Stern being immature, then a bunch of asshole republicans pretending to be mature and holy.
Lesser of two evils....
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
It's all apples and oranges?
An apple a day keeps the doctor away?!
NO! That wasn't the phrase! Sir please...

As much as I hate him, I'd still rather suck dog shit off of Howard Stern's cock than see Michael Powell win his war on free speech. Also, as dumb as Stern's humor is, he does occasionally have something interesting to say, and I admire the balls that he has in pursuing his convictions. I think it was about a month ago that Michael Powell or some other uppity-up in the FCC was on an L.A. talk radio show, and Howard Stern actually called into the show to confront him directly. I grudgingly have to respect him for that.

Howard despises the term Shock Jock. So, don't blame him for that queer moniker. If any of you actually listened you would have heard your buddy Patton Oswalt in on the news today. Is it just me or is he looking more and more like Elton John each day?

I have listened to Howard since 97 and have enjoyed him also on his E! show. I feel that I can like smart comedy like Mr. Show and comedy like Howards. I listen to howard for a cheap laugh and for his rants on celebrities, he doesn't give a fuck and i respect that.
gay fun fact: Jackie X-Stern show writer, gave my Dad his nick name

Wow. It must be something really clever, like monkey spanker or the booger man. Sorry Darty. I just don't get "the jokeman". I can't imagine having to sit through one of his CDs. Wanna see something even scarier? How 'bout an iPod for "jokes" (http://www.jokeman.com/dirtyjoke.html)? I think his leaving the show was a really lucky break for Howard. I don't think Howard even realizes that, though.
I remember several years back hearing Gary Shandling talk about Howard's show. He said he'll spend a few weeks or months or whatever listening to his show a lot, then he'll get sick of him and go a while without listening, then he'll get to a point where he feels like listening again for a while, and so on. He said it's a struggle to find the right balance of him. I wish I had the exact quote. Anyway, I think that pretty well sums it up.
I've been too bitter to listen since my entry in the "Restless, Restless" song contest didn't even get played on the air.

I hate jackie, he's a drunk, a big stupid drunk. My Dad knew him in college and I would never give him money for anything. I'm a Fred/Eric man, CAW CAW

Yuck, Maryanne from Brooklyn references? I liked Jackie but I don't really miss him either. Just his stupid laugh. Artie was a fan of the show and I'm glad he's on there in Jokies place.
I agree with the statement about listening to him for a few months and then avoiding him. That seems to be the way most people listen to Howard. I tend to do the same but have a higher tolerance than most. His show might not be 'genius' comedy but what the fuck else is on at 6am?

I don't know that he necessarily thinks this for real. I think he acts like this is the case to make people upset, get them talking, and tuning in to his show for ratings. So basically, when people pay attention to, and get mad at, what Stern says, he accomplishes his goal. He "wins." I believe that's why they call him a "shock jockey," or "shock jock" for short.
I'm not a fan of Howard Stern, one way or another, and I don't listen to his show.

I think he rather looks like Charles Nelson Riley there. Of course, Patton's also referred to himself as "looking like a lesbian," which makes me giggle every time I see him now.
