Should bush win why don't the American people declare themselves to be communists. This would make Bush the head of a commie nation and he would have to have himself killed on principles (assuming he has any). Then after comrade Bush is safely planted you return to being a dubious democracy again!

I felt the same way today. It's amazing to me that NOTHING has changed as far as the voter turnout, from the 2000 election. The same states that were red then are red now and the blue ones stayed blue. I mean, what the fuck does it take to get O-FUCKING-HIO to wake the fuck up? More local unemployment? A WORSE local economy? Maybe another war or two or three and some more enviromental negligence...

A co-worker of mine suggested that Democrats (or liberals in general) will never be able to win until mass amounts of old people start dying off. But I'm not so optimistic about the young people either... :(

There is clearly an interest in keeping people stupid. We're not going to get a mainstream news organization that tells us the things we most need to know. The news sources that DO tell us what's actually important are not going to have exposure to the masses.
