Three years after leaving NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," Andy Richter is coming home to roost at the peacock network.
The comedian has inked a talent development deal with the network to develop and star in a comedy series project, the concept of which has yet to be determined.
Richter's long history with NBC as well as his critically acclaimed effort in the offbeat Fox comedy "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" drove NBC to pursue the actor.
"For me, the main thing about Andy is that he's got that great combination of everyman with a subversive side to him," said NBC's Kevin Reilly.
The new Richter show will be targeted for the fall 2004 lineup.
